A detailed presentation was delivered to clarify the essence of female gendercide, the existing girl-to-boy sex ratio in India, focusing specifically on our state. The classification of female gendercide, its methods, causal factors, and the complicity of individuals in its perpetuation were thoroughly explained. Recent occurrences of female foeticide and infanticide in India were illustrated using visual aids. Notably, the narratives of rescued children were shared to emphasize the humanitarian aspect.
The discussion elaborated on individual interventions in combating female gendercide and detailed the legislation concerning child marriage, child labor, female foeticide, and gender identification. The implementation procedures, associated penalties, and the responsible authorities were thoroughly outlined.
The audience was called upon to pledge their commitment to combat female gendercide. A subsequent post-test was conducted to measure their understanding and determine the nature of the pledges they were willing to undertake.
